Karitane, Dunedin

An elevated site with an existing cottage overlooking the Kaitane estuary and a small building platform, meant the clients had designed a two-story contemporary home. Modern materials such as exposed precast concrete and vertical cedar with a bag washed plaster render to an enduring brick allowed the house to stand out yet fit into its surrounding environment.
